With mid-term elections just days away in the US, we put our heads together and select a Politicians XI soccer team. That's a full 11-a-side football team made up of American politicans past and present. Dowload, listen, disagree. Then email your own suggestions for who should coach this team to soccer@wrir.org |

Taylor phoned up "show regular" Jeff Carlisle to do a full-on podcast preview of the 2010 MLS Playoffs. Jeff gave his round by round predictions, thoughts on the overall playoff structure, and said goodbye to the 2010 regular season. He refused to explain why he won't play FIFA '11, but did take the time to touch on the US Men's National Team, the influence of Jermaine Jones, and the potential for locker room bitterness. Download and enjoy!

The usual foursome assemble in studio to discuss the end of the MLS regular season and, more specifically, the start of the 2010 Playoffs. However, not content to do a simple/logical breakdown of each team, they resort to a trivia competition as a means of discussing the eight teams that have qualified for the tournament. Then, after the closing music fades out, there's another 20ish minutes of podcast glory, as the discussion turns to the topic of the hour/day/week: Wayne Rooney. The boy wants out, and the TFSS crew are here to discuss the who, what, where, when, and why of the overall issue... and Albert tries not to laugh with glee for a solid chunk of time. Download and enjoy... and don't forget to visit us on facebook (www.facebook.com/totalfootballsoccershow), on Twitter (twitter.com/soccershow), or even via email (soccer@wrir.org). Cheers! |

We discuss the USA's 0-0 draw with Colombia. Questions raised include: Jermaine Jones - man or messiah? Alexi Lalas - pundit or parasite? And how many defensive mindfielders is too many? |

We discuss the USA's 2-2 draw with Poland. Josh was at the game with a press pass and microphone so we've got post-match player interviews galore, while Albert, Daryl and Taylor watched the game on TV. Twice. |

Forgive the rhyming title... it couldn't be helped. Anyway, in anticipation of the impending Euro 2010 Qualifier between Germany and Turkey, Taylor got on the phone with Raphael Honigstein (of Sports Illustrated/The Guardian/Süddeutsche Zeitung fame) to discuss Turks in Germany, the German National team, the Bundesliga itself, and the status of the Americans playing in the league. Download, enjoy, and whatever you do... don't trust Wikipedia!!!

We had so much fun doing our ultimate indoor team on show 60 that this week we decided to put together a Movie Character Football Team. That's an entire first XI made up of fictional movie characters. Characters mentioned include Agent J, Anton Sigur and - unfortunately - Lieutenant John McClane. Also, listen out for t-shirt competition details towards the end of the show. |
