...which team would we go back and watch in person? And why? We debate in studio whether it should be Brazil '58, Sacchi's Milan, Maradona's Napoli, the 1989 USMNT soccer team and many more. Teams that didn't make the debate are discussed later in the show. Did we miss anyone? |

Albert, Daryl and Peyton discuss the Liverpool v. Wolves English Premier League soccer match and the Sporting KC vs Philadelphia Union Major League Soccer game, as well as Michael Bradley's first two starts for Chievo and a quick round of the Wikipedia Game featuring Scandinavian soccer players and a debate about what constitutes Scandinavia. |

It's that time of the year again, WRIR (the station which so graciously airs our show every Thursday at 12:30) is in the middle of a fund drive. In honor of this special time of year Daryl, Josh, and Albert are joined in studio by regualr guest Peyton to play a little, well actually a lot, of the Wikipedia game. Travis Clark and Grayson Smith phone in and try their hand as well. Who wins? Not important, but an early and bold prediction goes very wrong. |

Albert, Daryl and Josh are in studio and Taylor is on the phone from Turkey, to discuss Manchester United's 3-1 win over Chelsea, which, believe it or not, was on FOX. We also discuss Americans abroad and play a little Wikipedia Game. |
Thu, 15 September 2011
Albert, Daryl, and Josh discuss VCU Rams Men's Soccer with Head Coach Dave Giffard, the first round of UEFA Champions League group stage games, MLS' success in Mexico and what it all means, and an assortment of USMNT issues, including former coach Bob Bradley's new gig (exotic locale? high pressure? maybe?), and the Tony Sanneh fueled Twitter saga involving German-American Timmy Chandler. All of that and a brief preview of our game of the week in TSS episode # 109. |

As the title suggests Daryl, Josh, Albert, and Taylor (live from Turkey) discuss Valencia's 1-0 La Liga win over Atletico Madrid. Daryl also had time to talk to Elliott Turner author of the E-Book An Illustrated Guide to Soccer and Spanish. The show finishes up with the breifest of wrap-ups of the TSS 11 a side team's first game of the fall, just know there were goals a plenty. Oh and of course the Wikipedia Game, hosted by Josh. |

Daryl and Josh are in studio to discuss the USA's 1-0 loss to Belgium, and look back on the first three games of Juergen Klinsmann's reign as USMNT coach. We also hear from referee Scott Zawadzki, who explains why that Maurice Edu goal was disallowed, and David McBride gives us his take on Michael Bradley's move to Chievo in Serie A. |

So... in Juergen Klinsmann's second game in charge, USA lost 1-0 to Costa Rica in California. Albert, Daryl, Peyton and--from Turkey via phone--Taylor review the game in terms of both individual performances and the bigger picture of what it means going forward. We also play a haphazard four contestant Wikipedia Game with Marlon Frisby, categories being players who moved in the transfer window and German managers in charge of foreign national teams. |
Thu, 1 September 2011
Albert, Daryl, and Josh discuss the USMNT's upcoming friendly against Costa Rica, but not before we run down the Richmond Kickers US Open Cup semi-final against the Chicago Fire. Somehow transfer deadline day makes an appearance with a slightly American twist and an interview with European soccer journalist Andy Brassell by our very own Taylor. After fitting in a little Stoke City, yes that Stoke City, we induct a new member into the 3-6-1 HOF, a slight preview he may have been ranted about a time or two. |
